CANINE WELLNESS CARE
Annual wellness exams for your dog are the best way to keep your pet as healthy as possible. Bringing your dog in for regular wellness exams is the very best you can do to assure longer life and the highest quality of life for your companion.
The Value of Annual Exams
At Deason Animal Hospital, our veterinarians recommend annual exams for puppies and adult dogs, and biannual exams for senior dogs. During the wellness exam we will review your dog’s medical history, record their weight, and check their vital signs, as well as perform a thorough physical examination.
The wellness exam is also an opportunity for you to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your dog’s health. We can discuss topics such as nutrition, dental care, mobility issues, age-related changes, and vaccinations. We believe in creating individualized wellness care plans that specifically address your dog’s needs. Our veterinarians will review your dog’s lifestyle based on their activities and factors such as age, breed, and medical history to create a personalized vaccination plan for your pet.
Preparing for Your Pet’s Exam
On the day of your dog’s wellness appointment, we ask that you bring a stool sample (less than 12 hours old) with your dog on a leash. We also recommend that you bring medical files such as previous vaccination records if this is your dog’s first visit with us.
